It all starts with A.A. Milne’s “bear of very little brain” using all of his thinking to think up a way to get some more honey. With some help from his friend Christopher Robin, he decides to use a balloon, and a disguise – Pooh muddies himself to look like “a little black rain” – to sneak up on a beehive high up in a tree. It turns out, though, that these are quite the discerning bees, able to tell muddy bears from rain clouds, and Pooh has to beat a hasty retreat!

After this misadventure, Pooh heads for the home of his obliging friend Rabbit and asks himself in for lunch. But when the stuffed bear stuffs himself with too much honey, he gets stuck exiting Rabbit’s hole. Silly bear!

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is actually three short stories, initially released seperately from each other, that were stitched together with a narrator taking us from one “chapter” to the next. The two chapters that follow are every bit as charming, and introduce us to all of Pooh’s friends: Kanga, Roo, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger too!

There are none to offer – this is as family and kid-friendly as can be. Or bee.

Conclusion

This is the first and very best of the Pooh movies, with 2011’s Winnie the Pooh, a close second. Parents will enjoy it too, though maybe not as many times as your littles.
