What makes our book review site different?
- We’re looking through a Christian lens for what is praiseworthy, with a particular emphasis on steering clear (with only the rarest of exceptions) of anything that takes God’s Name in vain. See here for more on how we evaluate books.
- These are all recommendations. Some sites review the latest, both the good and the bad. We’re passing on only our favorites, no matter what year they were published (just so long as they are still in print). That means parents won’t find many of these on local bookstore shelves, but you will be able to reserve them at your library or find them on Amazon.
If this is your first time to RP’s Recommended Reads, the best place to start would be these articles:
- 10 picture book authors parents will love
- Best of Caldecott: 140+ great picture books
- 30+ Christian fiction suggestions for your 10 to 15-year-old boys
- Christian fantasy after Tolkien: a Top 10
- 100 books to buy: A family library is a fantastic long-term investment
- Tips on reading (almost) 52 books in a year
Find more articles in our “Book lists” and “Articles” sections below, where you can also find individual reviews grouped in categories for children, teens, and adults. So take a meander… and if you like what you see, let others know!
