What is Netflix doing to the Chronicles of Narnia?
In the Empire magazine article linked above, the director of Netflix’s upcoming The Magician’s Nephew adaptation talks about how something she heard in the 1970s saved her life, assuring her she was going to be okay. Is she sharing an encounter with the Gospel? Nope.
“David Bowie saved my life. Paul McCartney saved my life. David Gilmour saved my life. Peter Townsend saved my life. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant… when I heard their music, I had this deep send of [thinking], ‘You’re gonna be okay.”
A lot of saving was going on, but what’s perhaps the most notable part of Empire’s exclusive coverage is that there is not a single mention made of the real Savior. BC Christian doctor gets huge fine for refusing to harm gender-confused child
A Christian BC family doctor was ordered to pay a $28,000 fine because he refused to participate in what would have been understood as medical malpractice as recently as a decade ago, and we can pray may be again very soon. He would not give a 14-year-old boy a hormone shot designed to suppress his maturation. The trans lobby talks as if these hormonal shots simply delay puberty, but Christians know it is only a matter of time before the damage being done will be more fully exposed. Pretending that people can change or choose their gender has to have horrible repercussions, some of which are already being detailed by “detransitioners” like Chloe Cole.

Christians speaking the truth about abortion for the glory of God
This happened in Boston earlier this year. Hundreds of abortion abolitionists descended on the downtown. Why? To confront a hostile, or at the best apathetic culture, with the great evil that’s happening in their midst – the slaughter of one million unborn babies every year in America.
This is amazing. Here are Christians en masse acting like abortion really is the monstrous sin – the child sacrifice – that we say we know it to be. They are confronting it, exposing it, and, knowing this to be bigger than anything they could ever handle on their own, they are doing so as children of the living God, calling for repentance in His Name.
The abortion abolitionists distinguish themselves from “pro-lifers” who they identify as the mass of Christians who label themselves as pro-life, but who won’t do anything more. Many abortion abolitionists also think that incrementalists like me – those who think a step-by-step strategy to stopping abortion is a legitimate strategy – are sinning in not pushing for a full and complete ban on abortion as our first and only move.
While he might have a problem with me, I share this because I am encouraged and challenged by the courage on display here. I am encouraged by how they give God the glory that is His due in fighting a horror that is first and foremost an affront to His law. What they demonstrate is how speaking the truth about abortion isn’t just showing love for our littlest neighbors, but is also showing love to adults who are otherwise on their way to hell – the unborn blood on their hands can only be washed clean with the blood of our Saviour Jesus Christ. So, it is loving to call the world to repentance.
